Affordable elderly live in care-guarding your independence

Affordable elderly live in care

Affordable elderly live in care does it exist?…Yes! There often comes a time when unfortunately it becomes apparent a loved- one is beginning to show signs of struggling to remain independent in their own home. However, with some “fine- tuning” it’s possible for them to retain their independence and be where they belong at home, instead of “in” at home!.

You yourself might be either a daughter, or a son, who has been up until now -informally helping mum and dad (or both).

But as is so often the case, you are finding you could do with a bit of help yourself!

Of course for most people the question of cost/money enters into the equation.

We at AAATeam Home Help firmly believe the best way forward is to bring someone in as a live in carer.

But at the same time affordable. Thus providing “on tap” help when needed, and the personal space which is very important too.

Yes….we understand what you are thinking this is going to work out expensive!

We agree to do it the conventional way can be. However, we don’t do things the conventional way.

Our carers work out around half the cost of an agency provided care.  (Compare: The total cost is normally between £600 and £700 a week) How do we do it is quite simple – we cut out the agency profit element.

Live In Care For Elderly

Our carers work out around half the cost of an agency provided carer. How do we do it is quite simple – we cut out the agency profit element.

Here we will cover some of the questions people usually have.

Firstly, it’s essential and a pre requisite to provide the live in carer with their own bedroom. Its standard throughout the care industry this comes free of charge as do all cooked meals. What usually happens is the carer prepares and cooks the meals and sits down to share together with the host/s.

Most of our live -in elderly carers do possess a driving license which is very handy to help with any appointments made, shopping etc. Therefore being mobile (especially in rural areas) is a big plus. So if mum or dad own a car which is no longer in use, think twice before selling it.

Team Home Help provide what we would describe as providers of informal live in care. Many of our enquirers first thought is/was “we need a live in NURSE” when in fact usually you don’t. In most cases the help needed is home help and companionship and not a medical professional. Not to mention the costs here would be very substantial. Do however, take into account the carer does need some rest too. Nobody can be totally 24 hours or you will quickly burn them out.

Their main role is preventative and wherever possible, keeping them at home instead of in a nursing home. By having someone around can prevent falls which is one of the main factors which ultimately lead to an admission into residential care.
